Irene Sun, MAR, ThM, is a preacher’s wife, mother, daughter to missionaries, and sister to three godly women. Irene was born in Malaysia but has lived all over the world. She studied liturgy and literature at Yale University and the Old Testament at Trinity Evangelical Divinity School, where the Lord prepared her to be a homeschool teacher to her four boys.

I love finding new books that accentuate different attributes of God. People often talk about God's creativity with children and talk about creation and how we as humans can also create (usually relating to art). This is such a different angle to approach things from. Great for kids who love counting and details. For kids who notice story elements more than the main characters. My children really enjoy reading this gentle, creative, Bible based book.

I highly recommend this book!I recently read God Counts to my children. They range in age from Pre-K to 2nd Grade. They enjoyed listening to it being read aloud as well as taking in the details of the creative illustrations.It is thoughtfully written with sound biblical truths throughout and yet is simple enough for a young child to understand.While most learning books for children do not mention God at all, this book lovingly puts Him in the center.God Counts has been a blessing to our family. I have purchased two copies as gifts.

I've met the author personally and respect her so much as a teacher and mother that I knew I had to buy her book. I was not disappointed. The book is not long or big, but it is beautifully done - both in the illustrations, but more importantly, in concept. As a former seminary student, I can be picky about what I teach my kids, and unfortunately feel as if most Christian kid stuff can be trite. But Irene balanced her examples of literal and abstract ideas to paint a clear picture about God's bigness and amazingness, keeping the focus on God's character, in a way that brought me to tears when I read it with my 5 year old. We buy very few books for our kids, as we read tons from the library. But I am so glad we got this keeper for ourselves.

I’m a theology professor and mom of a little boy. It is a treat to find true, good and beautiful children’s books about the Christian faith. This book is simply and thoughtfully written, and at the same time connects profoundly to Scriptural themes. The illustrations are beautiful. Buy this inspired book!

This book is incredible! It’s such a creative way to look at the Bible, and my toddler loves it! It teaches numbers as well as truths of God’s Word. And the last few pages make me cry every time.

All three of my kids ages 4,5, and 11 enjoyed this book. It delivers Bible stories in a fresh way. It's a fun book to read with the kids!

I love to read this with my toddler as he learns how to count. As he gets older we can explore all the verses noted in the story so this book will be growing with our family.

This is a lovely book. It is well illustrated and written and those are the two things that count in a children’s book.
