This is a superbly written book and a must-have for anyone interested in machine learning. The author breaks down the concepts in ways that do over-simplify the material or present it in a way that assures me have decades of advanced math under my belt. The level of rigor was just right for me, as someone familiar with calculus and linear algebra from many years ago, but the refresher the book gave was very helpful.The book proceeds to follow a natural progression of getting into more advanced models like Support Vector Machine, before really diving into advanced topics such as Deep Learning. One final positive aspect of the book is the balance in explaining the mathematics of Machine Learning. Overall, I am very happy to add this to my collection of ML books!
One page in, and not at all an expert myself, I could see that there were misstatements and misrepresentations. And it only got worse. Then I checked back to see who this guy was and what the deal was. Here's what I found (in part) on the copyright page: " . . . purchasing this book can be seen as consent to the fact that both the publisher and the author of this book are in no way experts on the topics discussed within and that any recommendations or suggestions that are made herein are for entertainment purposes only." WTF? *Entertainment purposes*? What, is this a novel? When I buy a technical book, I'm actually looking for accuracy. Not only are the publisher and the author not experts, looks like they didn't both to get the material reviewed by any experts either.
I am a beginner to machine learning and this guide came to me in right time, language is easy to understand, chapter three helped me to understand basics of Deep learning, chapter four is all about algorithms, it makes it some how easier for me to get start with machine learning.
This is a very informative book. The book author well explanation in this book about Machine Learning. All of it is very basic simple English so I won’t need a special coding degree to understand it. Here, This book all the basic entry-level topics needed for the absolute amateur so I can start to make sense of this highly innovative technological advancement. I am glad to purchase this book. Of course, I was actually impressed by how much useful information squeezed in such a short book. Author described every single thing very clearly with some proper explanations. Such an excellent book.
